Spring 2026

Hades II (Console Release) — April 14, 2026

Supergiant Games' follow-up to the critically acclaimed Hades makes its console debut after a successful early access period on PC. You play as Melinoë, sister of Zagreus, fighting through the Underworld with tight combat and a story that hooks you from the first run. If you haven't played it on PC yet, this is your moment.

Release date: April 14, 2026 — PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Pragmata — April 17, 2026

Capcom's mysterious sci-fi adventure has been delayed multiple times, but it's finally locked in. Set in a dystopian near-future, you play a character exploring a surreal version of Earth alongside a mysterious young girl. The trailers have been gorgeously cryptic — think Death Stranding meets cyberpunk.

Release date: April 17, 2026 — PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2

Summer 2026

Marathon — June 5, 2026

Bungie's next big thing after Destiny. Marathon is an extraction shooter set in a sci-fi universe, built for PvP-focused players who love the tension of risking everything on a single run. It's a massive departure from Destiny's formula, and the gaming world is watching closely to see if Bungie can pull it off.

Release date: June 5, 2026 — PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC

Nintendo Switch 2 Launch — June 26, 2026

Nintendo's next-generation console arrives with a bigger screen, enhanced graphics, and backward compatibility with original Switch games. The launch lineup is expected to include Mario Kart World and several third-party titles. This is the biggest hardware launch of the year.

Release date: June 26, 2026

Mario Kart World — June 26, 2026

The Switch 2 launch title everyone's excited about. A brand-new Mario Kart built from the ground up for the new hardware, featuring new tracks, new characters, and what promises to be a significant visual upgrade over Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Day-one purchase for basically everyone buying a Switch 2.

Release date: June 26, 2026 — Switch 2

Fall 2026

Marvel's Wolverine — September 15, 2026

Insomniac Games (the studio behind the Spider-Man games) brings Logan to life on PS5. Expect brutal combat, a mature story, and the same level of polish that made Marvel's Spider-Man 2 a masterpiece. This is PlayStation's biggest exclusive of 2026.

Release date: September 15, 2026 — PS5

Fable — September 26, 2026

The beloved RPG franchise returns after over a decade. Playground Games (of Forza Horizon fame) is building a gorgeous open-world Albion filled with British humor, moral choices, and fairy-tale adventure. Xbox fans have been waiting a long time for this one.

Release date: September 26, 2026 — Xbox Series X/S, PC

Doom: The Dark Ages — October 8, 2026

id Software takes the Doom franchise to a medieval setting. Yes, you read that right — the Doom Slayer in a dark fantasy world, ripping and tearing through demons with swords, shields, and ancient weapons alongside the classic arsenal. It's as metal as it sounds.

Release date: October 8, 2026 — PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC

The Main Event

Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19, 2026

This is it. The most anticipated game in a decade. Rockstar Games returns to Vice City with a modern-day setting inspired by Miami, featuring the franchise's first female protagonist, Lucia, alongside her partner Jason. The trailer alone shattered YouTube records.

After years of waiting, speculation, and leaks, GTA 6 is finally almost here. Expect a living, breathing open world that pushes current-gen consoles to their absolute limits. This isn't just a game release — it's a cultural event.

Release date: November 19, 2026 — PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Also on the Radar (2026, Dates TBD)

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Hideo Kojima returns with the sequel to his divisive but visionary Death Stranding. Norman Reedus is back, joined by an incredible cast that reportedly includes Troy Baker, Léa Seydoux, and Elle Fanning. Expected sometime in 2026 on PS5.

Ghost of Yōtei

Sucker Punch's follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima moves to 1600s Hokkaido, Japan. You play as Atsu, a new protagonist with a fresh story. The first game was one of the PS4's best, so expectations are sky-high.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Originally announced in 2017, Metroid Prime 4 has been through a full development restart and is now confirmed for Switch 2. Samus Aran returns in what could be one of the biggest Nintendo exclusives of the generation.

Looking Ahead: 2027 and Beyond

The Elder Scrolls VI — TBD 2027+

Bethesda's long-awaited Elder Scrolls sequel is still a ways out, but it's coming. After Starfield, the studio is refocusing on the franchise that defined open-world RPGs. No firm date yet, but 2027 or later seems likely.

The Witcher 4 — TBD

CD Projekt Red has confirmed the next Witcher game is in development with Unreal Engine 5. Don't expect it before 2027 at the earliest, but it's happening.
